⁵thGrade Hornets Sting Lawrence

The Hornets defense is the key to a 37 to 17 win over Lawrence. True Alton scored 9 points, Andrew Davanzo 6 points, Gavin Johnson 5 points, DJ Rice and Tom Grundy both scored 4 points and Danny Kolano, Dylan Lavine, Mike Bozarth and Ryne Blagg all scored 2 points. The Hornets recorded is now 7 -2  and will play Robbinsville next Sunday at 1pm.

Ewing Swats Hornets
All season the 5th grade boys travel basketball team had trouble playing against Ewing and yesterday was no acceptation. Hopewell lost to Ewing for the second time this season to Ewing. True Alton scored 12 points, Gavin Johnson scored 5 points, DJ Rice scored 4 points, Andrew Davanzo scored 3 points and Tom Grundy added 2 points for the Hornets.

 Hornets Sting Langhorn                                                           The Hornets defense took control in the second half to break the game open for Hopewell. Hopewell defeated Langhorn 33 to 24. True Alton scored 16 points, Gavin Johnson scored 7 points, Andrew Davanzo scored 5 points, DJ Rice and Dylan Lavine both scored 2 points each and Mike Bozarth added 1 point and 6 rebounds for the Hornets.

Tough “D”Turns to Win for Hornets
The 5th grade boys travel team turned defense into a 41 to 34 win over Hamilton. After a slow start the Hornets woke up and took control for the game. True Alton scored 21 points, Andrew Davanzo and Gavin Johnson both scored 6 points , DJ Rice scored 4 points and Danny Kolano and Tom Grundy both added 2 points each. The Hornets are now 4-1 and will play a double header next Sunday.

Travel Basketball for Hopewell Basketball
Hornets Sting West Windsor Plainsboro After more then 3 week off the Hopewell 5th grade Hornets travel basketball team beat West Windsor Plainsboro 27 to 19. True Alton scored 12 points, Danny Kolano added 8 points, DJ Rice scored 3 points and Tom Grundy and Andrew Davanzo both added 2 point to lead the Hornets.

Hornets Lose in Opener to Ewing
Ewing came in and took the Hornets opening game on 12-06-09. Ewing won 32 to 15, for the Hornets True Alton and Gavin Johnson both scored 7 points each and Danny Kolano added 1 point. The Hornets were missing starter DJ Rice who will be out till Late December.

Hornets Sting Pennsbury 12-13-09
True Alton scored 19 points, Gavin Johnson scored 10 points, Danny Kolano scored 7 points , Tom Grundy scored 3 points and Andrew Davanzo added 2 points to lead the Hornets to a 43 to 27 win over Pennsbury. Next week the Hornets will have a double header.

Game 1- Hopewell vs Montgomery
Hopewell held off a Montgomerys run when Tom Grundy went on a 5 point run for the Hornets with in the last minute of play. True Alton scored 7 points, Andrew Davanzo 2 points, and DJ Rice added 2 points. To lead the Hornets to a 16 to 12 win.

 
Game 2 -Hopewell vs St Bernards
The St. Bernards team won this game 19 to 14. The Hornets were led by True Alton with8 points , Gavin Johnson and Tom Grundy both scored 2 points each and DJ Rice and Andrew Davanzo both added 1 point each.

 
Game 3 -Hopewell vs Hillsborough
The Hornets edged Hillsbrough 22 to 20. True Alton scored 14 points, Andrew Davanzo scored 4 points and DJ Rice and Gavin Johnson both added 2 points each for the Hornets.

5th Grade Boys 
New Look for 5th Grade Hornets
This year the 5th boys  will have to defend there title. After winning the 4th grade Central Jersey League last year the Hornets will be ready. The Hornets have 6 returning players coming back; True Alton, Andrew Davanzo, Gavin Johnson, Danny Kolano,  DJ Rice and Mike Bozarth.
And  new players; Ryne Blagg, Tom Grundy  and Dylan Lavine . The Hornets coaching staff feel with the added new players to the team the Hornets will be a power house in the Central Jersey League.

4th Grade Travel Basketball
Hornets Win it All
True Alton scored 11 points, Andrew Davanzo scored 8 points, Spencer Daniels,
DJ Rice, Chase Fleming, Dominick Gambino and Dannyl Kolano all added 2 points each to lead the Hornets over Langhorn 29 to 12. The Hornets won the CJ 4th grade travel Basketball league with a 8 wins and 3 loss record
